Maltese Breed Information

According to most Maltese breeders, these dogs did not deserve their reputation of the best companion dogs for nothing. They are smart, affectionate, loyal, playful and easily trainable. They can serve you as small watch dogs to alarm you or larger dogs, guarding your home or property.

For easy grooming, the hair gets cut down.

The name Maltese was gotten by this breed in Malta, where this breed was first registered. However, it is believed the dogs were bred in Italy. They are the mix of poodle and small spaniels.
