You should not get a puppy, younger than 8 weeks in age. To avoid it, feed the puppy in smaller portions several times a day. To avoid and prevent infections, make timely vaccinations. Follow the vaccination schedule, assigned by your vet. Keep in mind, that first vaccinations do not provide a full protection to your puppy. It still remains vulnerable to infection for several more months, until a complete course of vaccination is finished.  During this period of time, avoid taking your pup to the places, where lots of other dogs walk. Never allow your puppy to play with stranger dogs. To socialize your puppy with other dogs, select few puppies for them to play with that have responsible dog owners. Proper feeding of Mastiff puppies is another essential element of keeping them healthy. Right after the purchase, do not rush to change the pup’s ration. Ask the breeders about the dogs’ ration at the kennel and keep it the same for at least 2 more weeks. Then you may offer your puppy large beef bones to chew on. This would save much of your furniture and shoes and provide something tasty to chew on for your pet. Never let your puppy chew on pork or chicken bones. They break down into sharp pieces and may injure pup’s mouth or intestines.
